The intimate and serene setting, designed by Belgian top architect Benoit Viaene, creates the perfect atmosphere for you to enjoy yourself to the fullest and discover the Omakase menu (which literally means, "I leave it to the chef").

Embark on a gastronomic journey like no other with our exclusive Omakase menu at Hertog Jan. ‘Omakase’ – a term borrowed from Japanese cuisine meaning ‘I leave it up to you’ – allows our chefs to express their creativity and culinary artistry in full.
Each course is a surprise, an inventive blend of local West Flemish ingredients, and global culinary techniques. Dishes evolve with the seasons, featuring the freshest produce from our gardens, ensuring that every visit offers a new and exciting palate adventure.
Groups & Private Events
Hertog Jan at Botanic can be privatized outside of normal opening timeframes, depending on the availability of Chef Gert De Mangeleer. The entire restaurant can be reserved for your private event.
Opening hours
- Lunch: Tuesdays to Saturdays, 12 PM – 4:30 PM (kitchen closes at 1 PM)
- Dinner: Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 7 PM (kitchen closes at 8 PM)
